Bring Your Own Bag Day — November 14, 2026

Join the Show Me Sustainable Challenge for Bring Your Own Bag (BYOB) Day on Saturday, November 14, 2026, and help reduce the use of single-use plastic bags in our community.

Residents are encouraged to bring reusable bags when shopping at participating local retailers. One reusable bag can replace hundreds of plastic bags, helping reduce waste in landfills and the environment. Participating businesses may also offer special prizes, discounts, or other incentives to customers who bring their own bags.

Local Businesses — Get Involved!

Local retailers are invited to participate by encouraging customers to skip single-use plastic bags and bring reusable bags instead. Businesses can support the event by offering an incentive, discount, prize, or other promotion to customers who bring their own bags.

Business participation sign-up deadline: September 1, 2026.

The event is part of a broader effort by MO Green Future – Show Me Sustainable, Beyond Plastics Affiliate, MidAmerica Clean Future, and other community partners to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable practices throughout Missouri.
