Proposed Highway P Improvements Take Shape in Flint Hill

The City of Flint Hill is moving forward with plans for major streetscape and pedestrian improvements along Highway P. The proposed project would add new asphalt pavement, sidewalks, shared-use paths, curb and gutter, landscaped tree lawns, stamped concrete accents, street lighting, and improved pedestrian crossings.

The plans show a 10-foot-wide shared-use path along portions of the corridor, along with 5-foot concrete sidewalks, new driveway approaches, and decorative landscaping areas. Improvements are proposed through the heart of Flint Hill near St. Theodore Church, Grothe Road, local businesses, and the Mexico Road intersection.

Pedestrian safety is also a major component of the project. The plans include new crosswalks, pedestrian refuge areas, curb improvements, and street lighting. At Highway P and Mexico Road, the proposed design includes a marked crossing and refuge island intended to provide a safer connection across Highway P.

The improvements are designed to create a safer, more attractive, and more walkable corridor while enhancing the appearance of Flint Hill's downtown area. The attached plans represent the proposed design, and additional details may be refined as the project progresses.
