Trash Receptacles

Be a good neighbor and put away your cans

The City of Flint Hill encompasses a range of ordinances covering diverse issues such as building codes, zoning regulations, and expenditure guidelines. Among these, Ordinance No. 2022-03, initially adopted on April 20, 2022, and amending Section 15 of Ordinance No. 2018-11, focuses on trash receptacles.

This ordinance mandates that residents store their trash containers discreetly on the rear or side of their properties, away from public view. Additionally, it stipulates that receptacles should only be placed for pick-up on the evening preceding the scheduled collection and promptly removed by the following evening.

Furthermore, containers must be secured to prevent them from being displaced by the wind. Violations of these regulations incur monetary penalties as outlined in the city code. While these penalties are a last resort, the city urges residents to uphold cleanliness standards by responsibly managing their trash receptacles.

Leaving them on the street not only reflects poorly on the community but also poses safety risks such as obstruction of roadways and potential accidents. Let’s demonstrate respect for our neighbors and visitors by promptly returning our trash receptacles to designated storage areas after use.
